Samsung’s new r610 mobile phone lets customers access their favourite applications and services using a custom interface developed by Bell Mobility. Personalized “bubbles” appear on screen providing data streams of information like weather or recent news headlines.
The phone also includes a phonebook back-up manager that lets customers back-up their contact lists via a desktop web portal. Updates to the list can be managed and stored through the portal, then wirelessly synchronized with the phone. The back-up manager will cost $3/mo.
Additionally, Samsung’s r610 boasts access to Bell’s multimedia services, including Full Track Music, mobile movies and TV, Sirius satellite radio, and picture and video messaging; plus a Web browser, with the ability to instantly access e-mail, and Websites like Facebook and YouTube. It also provides a 1.3 MP digital camera with flash, camcorder, stereo Bluetooth, expandable memory, and speakerphone capability.
“Providing clients with advanced services is a key element in our strategy to deliver an exceptional wireless experience,” said Adel Bazerghi, Vice President, Products at Bell Mobility. “The new user interface lets clients customize their home screen to suit their interests and needs, and the backup manager eliminates any risk of losing their valuable contact information.”
Samsung’s r610 is available through Bell Mobility for as little as $99.95 on a three-year contract.
